Do you mean empty 5 gallon buckets or big trash cans.

5/6 gallon buckets can usually be picked up free from Burger King, McD's or any fastfood burger joint. All you gotta do is ask the manager to hold a few empty pickle buckets for you. Or you can buy them from home improvement stores for 5-7 bucks each.

Big trash cans can be bought at any Wal-Mart or home improvement store.

what!?!?! Seriously? 8 dollars is well below wholesale cost... If your local store is selling them that cheap buy all they have!

We are talking about these right? Brute 32-Gallon Gray Trash Can - FG 8632-92 GRA at The Home Depot

Ace website has them for $30 each if you buy a pack of 6...

It was probably just the lids they had for $8.

I buy buckets of salt...so I guess I have about 8 empty IO buckets now. Maybe your local reef club is giving them away? I would give mine away, but I keep finding uses for them.

I bought my 65gal rain barrel at Ocean State Job Lot & my 32gal Rubbermaid Brute with lid at Lowes. I keep RODI in my 66gal & saltwater in my 32gal. There are 2 sizes for the Brute barrels. The 32gal is $26.98 & the 44gal is $41.88 at Lowes.

The pic is when I was building my system.
