Resolved where in the world is my Engineer Goby?????

    hi. i got this cool Engineer Goby two days ago. and today i saw him swimming all about.. and i took a glance 2 minutes later and he is gone??:eek:

    where is he.. i searched almost everywhere. even outside the tank.. he is on my 29g.(was? :( ) is he dead?:-/

    he is in with another type of goby. brown barreled goby. and a cleaner shrimp.

    I'm not an expert on these but pretty sure they spend a lot of time burrowing in the substrate, my guess is thats where he is.

    Probably under a rock, or digging out his new home. Give him a few days to settle in, and keep a lid on the tank. They can and will jump out.

    They like to build tunnels. You will see alot of sand being moved around in your tank very soon. When I got mine he was out and about for about a day and next thing you know he is under some lr in his little tunnel.

    dang... i dont have lids.. didnt think they would jump, LFS didnt mention anything.

    i checked outside the tank and behind, sides.. nothing. so im guessing it could be like you said under a rock or sand??... when should i be worried? or should i be worried.. i literally see no trace of him.

    Gobies are pretty visible once settled. Give it a couple more days before you put out an A.P.B.

    question, did you put the rocks in first then add your sand? because they can cause rocks to shift and it could fall on them.

    Just another thought, they can get pretty large, liveaquaria says up to 12 inches. Hope you have plans for an upgrade lol.
