    Wow. I have never seen or heard without any live rock and/or sand in a saltwater tank. How do you cycle without them? I cant believe any fish survive without them for a few months.
    Im sorry but you should get live rocks asap, for the fish's sake, and go from there.

    i'm on it dog-gone-it :) getting the live rock ASAP. But a person can only do so much in one day....

    be careful how you add it. you dont want it to cycle with the fish in it

    Depends on what you get. Do you have sand? Did you decide what kind of rock your gunna have?

    When you go the local fish store tell them you want completely cured live rock. You can get some dry rock too, but it will need to be seeded to be effective as a biological filter.

    I would pick up a product called Prime as well.

    Just a quick question Corailline. My LFS said that prime prevents a complete cycle. Is this true?

    Ummm actually I haven't decided yet. I'm not quite sure what to get... there's so many, florida, fiji, carribean,..... yea there's a lot and i'm not quite sure what the defferece is.

    True but since there are already fish in the tank, with the Coral Beauty being the most sensitive, I think it would be best at this point to make sure there is no detectable ammonia and use small water changes. (soft cycle)

    If there is not detectable ammonia I would not use the prime.

    Any ideas on what kind of LR?? What's the differece between them all??
