Had this clam for over a year. Never any issues and always great color.
    Now this.

    What has changed?

    Temp spikes?

    New addition?

Is there something on the clam like a film (it appears so) or is it simply not extending its mantle?

Can you take a pic with some white light? That blue just obscures the detail and color.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Is it spawning?

    Added new carbon?

    GFO?

That is bizarre if it's not a spawn.

    Seen any Polyclad FW?

    Temp has been steady.
No new additions in the last 6 months other than serpentine starfish and falco hawkfish.
looks like the inside of the clam is almost deteriorating.

yeah sorry about the pic, i was home on my lunch break and just saw it and the whites havent kicked on yet. ill take another pic once i get home.

I've seen clams go way south and kind of deteriorate internally, but they usually act up before they get that far. Is your CUC already eating it?

yeah this happened within the last 24 hrs im thinking.
CUC is not messing with it right now at all.
ill get you guys a better pic in a few hours. i had to quick snap this one right before i left the house.

the white inside of it is stringy like and doesnt really leave the clam, its all stuck inside the shell.

Yeah it should not appear to be melting if it's a spawn.

Polyclads are the Godzilla of FW, usually at night they hunt. A large one will engulfe a snail or clam, they then begin enzymatic degradation.

If you remove it soon please look for the presence of Pyramids just for the heck of it.

    Type of clam please?

Sorry for the loss that is so frustrating.

    its a crocea
i guess i cant rule out spawning at this moment since i didnt really get to look at it for more then a few minutes and just the blue leds were on but it sure didnt look good.
