Resolved what's this creature?

I don't know if it dead or alive,it hasn't moved so maybe dead? Its an oval shape,cream color with splotches of brown ,flat like with short spines all over the top and on the side there are longer spines.

from the description it sounds like a free range egg with a mullet? LOL?

I can barely make out the image to be honest but it looks like some Molusc species to me

 

thats the best pic I can get right now,when my good lights come on monday I might be able to get a better shot.

Limpet or Chiton maybe

 

It's probably dead, thus the gape, but I believe it was a Spiny Oyster. The hairy spines and brown spots make me fairly certain it's Spondylus nicobaricus ciliatus. Here are a few exceptional examples of the species:

That certainly looks like what is in my tank! it looks pretty cool. I was worried that it might be something that eat my hand when I put it in the tank. I used a turkey baster and blew on it and the top blew up, so I guess its just a shell now.
