What's the benefits of LED's?

    I am thinking hard about switching to LED's. I have 2 choices, rapid led and aquastyles leds.

    I have a 40g breeder reef and a 29 biocube reef. I can buy kits for both tanks from aquastyles, for what I can buy the 40g breeder kit from rapid led.

    Is there a noticable difference between the 2 companies led kits?

    Also what is the benefits of going to led vs my 4 bulb t5 unit on my 40g breeder? I know about the ability to change the colors, heat difference and energy cost, but what about growth difference?

    The difference between the two brands..aquastyle and rapid is the led diodes used. Rapid uses cree while aquastyle uses bridgelux. cree > Bridgelux according to what ive read.

    is there a big difference though? Is it like ford vs chevy or like ford vs kia?

    My inexpert visual comparison with no scientific backing whatsoever is that it's more like ford vs toy plastic tricycle.

    Id say its more like a Lexus vs. Toyota, one costs more but they use the same parts!

    the difference is in the spectrum shift there is none with leds
    no bulbs to replace no heat

    IIRC aquastyle doesn't even use true BL leds.

    so even worse leds? Idk, nothing really against aquastyle but I would go rapid.
