Whats growing on my Live Rock?

    It looks like .5-2 mm fine aragonite or oolitic aragonite.

    It's just fine white sand used for reptile enclosures and such. My LFS reccomended it to me :)

    what is the name or your lfs?
    the living rock i get from my lfs looks nothing like that.
    mine is just covered with pink coroline. a few bits have fether polops on them but thats it!

    i was kinda leaning toward kenya tree and xenia for the second. i just fragged my kenya and it looks simular. heres a pic

    nice find on that live rock dont see nothing like that around here. how much per pound?

    most of us buy live rock and have to buy things to grow on it. remember its a take your time hobby and, read up before you do anything or add anything. clean water is a must. keep that in mind and you will do fine.

    I go to PetCity in Mt Gravatt (Brisbane Area) They're Marine specialists there and i've worked out which guys n gals there i can trust with advice. :)

    I think i purchase it for around about $10 p/kilo..

    It was my first piece i added and its great! I've got about 3-4 different corals and 3 types of seaweed growing on it. it looks great now
