A catalaphyla has been passing away for a week & the last bit left, the size of a golf ball, detached from it's base yesterday & floated free, still alive.I just noticed that it has somehow attached itself to the bottom of a torchlight 3ft away & a ft. above the sand.It looks like it's affecting it's host. What do I do?

Polyp bailout is a last ditch effort for corals to survive. In the ocean, when conditions aren't right and a coral knows it's going to die, they engage in polyp bailout hoping the polyp floats to somewhere where it's needs will be met better. The same thing happens in our tanks.

I personally would just move the polyp.
