    Joe, no its not all about cost. Heck i was almost going to spend 600+ on mh lighting when i found T-5HOs! There is no risk of overheating and other bad stuff...sure i dont have the shimmer...but i can live without it...and many people have had suscess caring for all stuff

    50 gallon reef being powered by coralife 36" 10000K(96watt) actinic(96watt) dual blue lunar lights. yet to have a problem but am thinking of starting a grow facility in near future. hey Bruce you say T5 HO can power like halides, sounds way cool man. i am looking to grow clams and rare sps, are they really as strong as MH?

    I'm running 2X250W MH 10K + 2x110VHO actinic on the 75G
    1x250 HQI 14K MH on the 45
    and the new 370G will have 3X400W 10K MH and 8X T5

    I have a 70w HQI halide and (2) 24w T5 actinics on a 20 long. It seems to be doing the trick.

    isn't acanthastrea a large polyp stony? Oh yeah, I'm using all MH! 30g reef, softies and lps corals. Gonna do maybe two SPS corals. montipora, acropora or pocillopora

    Bruce, i decided to go with the 6bulb hood setup. Total cost is going to be 430.00. i should be all set with the tek 6 bulb. Thanks for the information.
