I am going to raise my MG, Ca, and Alk to the desired levels. Which one should I dose first? I was thinking it should be MG to the level I want the either CA or Alk. Once I get them to the proper levels i will start using my dosing pumps.

Here are my current settings and what I am trying to get them to.

mg is 1100 I want to raise it to 1400.

Ca is 450 I want it at 500

Dkh (alk) is 10 I want it at 14.

I am using supplies from bulk reef supplies to get it done. here is a nice calculator they have to figure out how much you need to dose.

I had similar goals... sometimes your tank will give you different ones ;)

i ended up settling and remaining at

    1485
    470
    12

    w/pH 8.4

I use BRS supplies as well.

Mag should come first, this will allow you to bring up both Cal and Alk. Also keep in mind that you need to have a SG between 1.025-1.026 to achieve your goals.

    thanks Luna,

I have been keeping my sg at 1.026 in my tank so I'll be good there. But I did not know that the sg had an effect on ca and alk. thanks for the tip
