what to do

    Is there any way i can make sure that when I buy coral or frags from my lfs that I wont get algea from the coral? Can I treat it in some kind of chemical mixture?:confused:

    best thing to do is don't buy anything that is covered in algae...
    if it has a little calepura on it, tangs or any other algae eating fish will clean it for you...
    there are dips for coral but it is for unwanted pests like flatworms and pyramid snails, but not for algae that i know of...;D;D;D

    just visually check it. no guarantee it does not have algae...if your tank has low phosphates/nitrates and a cuc dont worry.
