I got 40lbs of base rock today to add to my 50lbs of live rock when I switch to the 90.

I have the rock soaking in salt water with a power head for now.

Is this the right thing to do ?
I saw the posts on curing live rock, but it doesnt seem like base rock applies.

    Any help ?

I think if it was dried base rock that it all I would have done just give it a rinse and a soak I would give it a sniff once in a while if it doesn't stink you aren't having any die off or curing issues.

    Thanks
    Yes, dry and white.

Do I need to do the water changes like the live rock link described ? I cant see how this base rock will increase amonia. Hopefully I will be ready in a week or two to add it into the new tank.

    \cheers

Those water changes are because the live rock curing process produces nasty stuff that you are every day having to brush and scrubb off, I don't think you are gonna have to go through that.
