I have seen members on here with their corals picture. Is stunning beautiful color. But my is brownish looking. I have used phytoplankton, and that about all I have used. My lightning is DIY LED. My frogspawn, RBTA and fews other are brown. When I see the frogspawn at the store, is was green and rbta was reddish brown color when I got it. What can I do to color it up?

    Thanks,

As you all can see, the color is dull and brownish. Sometime, I thinking is because where I got my corals. The guy sell it to me alway have the lowest price around. His price are alway $5-$10 lower then everybody. I don't mind paying for higher quality coral. But I want to know, it's me or it's where I got my coral from.

    Thanks

You need to test your phosphate levels. High nutrient levels are the most likely cause. Also, what type, color, and watt of leds are in your diy led?

    What are your parameters?

    SG
    PH
    Alk
    Cal
    MAg
    Nitrate
    Phosphate

    it is your lights.
The color is there but the intensity of the white is so high that it is "drowning out" the color. If your light had slightly more blue in it, you would be able to see a little more color :)

    - try turning on only blue lights or even a moonlight once... they will glow

Well to be honest, I don't think I have my white on that high.

    30%-40% white
    70% - 80% blue

Only run it 9 hour a days. And moonlight are on when leds are off.

That picture of RBTA looks like a leather, is that what they normally look like?

Usually people go 2:1 blue to white and you have 24 white, 22 blue.

What size tank is this on?

Your duncan looks good to me, if you put your blues only on it will glow greenish.
