As of now heater kicks in at 75.5 and will raise to 76.5
Chiller kicks on at 78 and drops to 77
So 3.5 degrees max from coolest to warmest

Don't use a chiller. I have one if somebody wants one.

One to two degrees doesn't seem to bother anything too much which also seems to be the default range of most heaters depending on ambient conditions. I shoot for less range, but it's hard to do without running a controller coupled with heaters and fans on every tank.

No chiller. Controller usually keeps the temp within .1 degree F. Not that I think that's necessary, just how well the controller regulates temp.

What type of controller do you have. I have never seen a controller that would give +- .1 degree.

Why can't you use a chiller? I run 2 chillers on both of my tanks and I have a variance of about 2 degrees. A chiller has done wonders for my tank so I disagree with telling someone to not use a chiller.
