I use Oceanic and have for over a year, so I dont think its that bad. Also thats just the data from that study, they havent posted the sumary about what it all means yet. My tank would beg to say its not harmful because my critters are thriving.

Well, I switched to reef crystals. It mixes well, and the reef tanks seem okay with it.

I was using IO for what, 10 years, now I am using ESV's new Bionic Salt System. If I wasn't using that it would be Seachem's Salinity.

It's not hard at all for me, but I'm quite adapt at using scales and such. I actually get mine in the exact amount I use for a WC so most the time I don't have to touch the scale. 0% precip on anything in the mixing tank. 10 minute mixing and it doesn't effect my skin like others do when first mixed. I used to get a lot of dry skin on my hand that I would use to move the powerhead in the mixing tank. Since I started on ESV I have not had that issue.

I guess i'm the only one using Sera Marin. It's the only salt i've ever used. I mix a 14 gallon tub and in 5 minutes its crystal clear. I always let it sit atleast 24 hours until I use it though. Most say it is nearly identical to Tropic Marin. They're both out of Germany so there may be some truth to that. My params stay great with it. The price isn't bad either 159 gallon mix is $48.95 at my LFS. If I ever switch it would be to Brightwell or Tropic. But I would only do that if the Sera became unavailable.
