i buy all of mine from walmart. I dont really think it needs to for aquarium use, its just a timer. As long as you have a drip loop you will be fine.

+1, a timer is a timer. Add a drip loop and you will be just fine. the "aquarium" timers are just expensive versions of the $5 walmart timers.

Ive bough mine off of amazon, about 30 bucks and has day and night outlets. first one lasted me about 2 years. Not really well built but best I have found. Stay away from the digital ones though.

I'm curious why u say stay away from digital? I was about to buy a digital, as my mechanical one from wal mart hangs up constantly.

Ya I think I'm gonna pick one up like that. The mechanical sucks, it will sometimes hang up and not kick on or off and then reverse the cycle. I wanna spike it off a concrete floor

i went with a couple digital timers with battery backup. I got them from target for less than $10 each. A little more than the regular timer, but not having to reprogram the timer everytime it comes unpluged or everytime the power goes out is worth the extra few bucks!!!

Not the exact timer, but close...
