Resolved What kind of coral is this?

    My dad just set up a Solana 34 gallon at his house and in his rubble rock there is a nice looking coral that came to life. Not sure what it is but he is referring to it as the seagina. LOL Thanks for looking.

    Looks like some sort of Euphyllia to me. Can't really tell with the polyps all retracted.

    It wasn't free it was 1.99/lb so it was probably $0.25. LOL

    Yea lol first thing I thought of was a rhizo I've seen them sell for 300$ a head and eat big chunks of silversides no problem

    IMO, looks like a plate coral that receded is regrowing or perhaps even a scoly, my opinion depends on whether those tentacles are always out or if they go in.

    They retract somewhat but are always out atleast a little. You have to realize too that this thing was under a couple feet of rubble rock at my LFS in the dark for who knows how long. We were digging through the tub finding stuff for my dads new tank and didnt even know it was on there and viola .... it popped up.
