ok i have a algea problem. this is wierd to me. i thought i had diatoms and then thought it was dino now im not sure. this went from being a greyish brown dust like substance that looked like dust bunnies then to a brown slimy looking stuff and now seems to be changing to green hair algea and some of it has some stuff that looks like leaves from a fern or something. i still have the brown stuff on other rocks that is also changing here and there. it is also is starting to grow on the sand. any help?

sounds to me like a typical reef tank in the early days when set up with live rock

most of it will burn out , some of it may become a nuisance
so as suggested get some images up, so we can assess what you have and what to do to help erradicate it

Brown stuff looks like the rgular diatoms. I also see, now, some red slime on the pump with bubble algea & GHA.

so what would be the best way to get rid of it or will it just go away on its own?
