    I've attached a picture and was wondering if anyone knew what this is? The LFS suggested I turn the lights off for a week to help with the green hair algae. I added a phosphate remover as well, but wasn't sure if lights off would hurt this thing?

    Looks like a type of torch/candy cane coral. I wouldnt turn the lights off, just cut them back a lot to like 6hrs a day

    I agree, does look like a candy cane type of coral.

    6hrs a day should help as geekdafied mentioned

    looks like a candy cane but can be a mushroom i think.

    Its a candy cane/truipet coral, looks just like mine in my tank!!
