I've had my 28 gallon nano up for 3 years and the last few months this stuff has started growing all over. What is it?

It looks like Bryopsis to me. I had it in my cube as well and was told that it is very invasive and deadly to fish. You should take out the rock that it is on.

Macro algae, not sure of the name but it is the same type I use in my refugium. It will pull off the rock fairly easy but make sure you get the filamentous roots that attach.

yes, it looks like macro to me. It's actually very pretty - looks like a fern. It's probably best to get it out of the display though especially since it's branching in your corals.....

I've been trying to pull it off when i can get a good hold on it. If i keep pulling it off will it eventually go away?

Yes, do be careful since it will spread quickly and can get very thick. This is how crazy its growing in my sump.

My gold rim tang picks at a small piece I have in the display, but very rarely and it does not seem to satisfy his appetite.
