If you have a big tank get a tang or reef safe wrasse or pull it of and put it in your fuge.

    I have a 29 gallon :-/

The Urchin hasn't gone towards the Caulerpa yet, but it seems to love GHA :)

Urchins generally like to gnaw on the holdfasts/rhizomes, so if you can yank the stuff down to the rocks a bit, it will likely help induce the urchin to help out.

I'm not sure I understand. Most of my Caulerpa is on the rocks and a few strands are on the sand bed. Is that what you mean?

It should, you need to feed him ( or at least I don't feed mine) you could try slipping a small piece of nori ON it if it likes is it will carry it to its mouth beneath him

Thanks for the tip :) I was going to return it after it was done eating the Caulerpa, but I'm kinda starting to like it now :)

So the urchin hasn't eaten ANY of the Caulerpa  What should I do? It has taken over my Zoa garden and is spreading over all of my rocks.

Urchins are cool if they stay on the glass, but they can rearrange your corals & you not notice til next day. Your best bet is the fox face. His pointy nose can nip that stuff off. You could try to get a juvenile so he fits in a lil better. Be careful cause they have poisonous spines along their back.
