What is this pest?

    Ok anyone help it does not seem to be of harm but there is thousands of them they scatter when the light comes on? DSC_0038.jpg DSC_0040.jpg

    Definitely some type of pod; looks like an isopod to me.

    They all look like chitons to me. I think they are harmless. PM John Maloney to see if he know.

    there are some that are reddish and some that are white either way look the same just different color. They are literally all over the tank when the light comes on but well witin 10 minutes 95 percent have dissappeared. they move slowly but go to the nearest hole and dissapear. takes about 2-3 min to move an inch.

    It does look like a chiton,but they wouldn't scatter I believe,I have 2 larger ones in my tank and they have to be the slowest moving critters in my tank.

    They appear to have a outer shell as I have pulled a couple out of the tank the unerside of them looks snail like with a mouth eating at the glass. Just there are so many of them. I think they are harmless but they are so abundant in the tank.

    I have a couple larger chiltons also they look related but they are slow compared to these.

    I have one of the white ones and it hides from the light and moves like his.
