    Hi all,

Hope this is an easy question. We have had this anemone for a few months and it has been doing really well.

There is a bubble like growth on the disc by its mouth. Is this normal? It has grown new tentacles but this is much more like a ball:

Thanks for any advice. Hoping it's just part of the creatures normal growth...

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Yes that looks normal, I am not sure why they do this type of bubble growth though. If coloration is good and expansion each day is routine than I would not be too concerned.

Thanks so much. Color is good and it cycles through expansion daily. It is firmly attached inside a crack between rocks and eats bits of food readily.

We are watching the anemone daily. It seems to be doing really well. Waiting to see if that bubble becomes a tentacle or something. [IMG]

    Will share any news.

Well, we feed it a little almost every day, so piglet works. :)

it almost looks like another mouth.....if you're feeding it that much - maybe it's getting ready to split?

Maybe it is a mouth? Sometimes it looks like poo comes out of it.
We feed it because it appears to do better as a result. Initially we were very conservative with food and the anemone would shrink down and go limp. We also noticed it was losing tentacles. It would puff up after feeding. It now poos daily and has started to form the bubble tips (didn't have those when we got it) and appears really healthy.
Waiting to see if that bubble does pop off to become a little anemone.
I am aware many folks don't feed their anemones. This schedule evolved by watching the animals response to both withholding food and providing some. We only offer small amounts (pencil eraser sized piece of fish or mysis shrimp) and the nem never hesitates. If it doesn't fully open we don't offer food. But so far it has been "blooming" daily, becoming more vibrant.

It has also stopped losing tentacles since receiving more regular feedings.
Not claiming any expertise, just a newbie reporting what seems to be working for this anemone.
