What is This Black Spot on My Rock?

    Can anyone identify this black spot? It's on my tonga branch rock. The rock was purchased dry from BRS. My tank just completed cycling.

    I recommend you repost this in the ID this section of these forums. I honestly do not know what the spot is.

    Looks like it's likely a little spot of black cyanobacteria. Since your tank is new, it's still pretty unstable, and you'll likely see a few algae cycles come and go.
