what is the thifrens t5 HO and t5 V-HO need to know A.S.A.P.

    hi i a am a newbbe and i need better lighting i like to DYI my lights so i need to know what is the difrents betweing t5 HO and t5 V-HO like the ones you fine in marinedepot.com i am runing a 110 g aquarium the is 30'' high 4 feet long 18'' wide ... it is a deep set up ianeed to know A.S.A.P.

    overdriving t5ho with an icecap 440 or 660 ballast is the difference between HO and VHO t5 bulbs.

    Are you going to use t5s solely to light the 110? and what do you want to keep?


    Unless you have no aspiration to keep more light needy critters on the bottom, and will light the tank with no halides, I would go with the overdriven t5vho's in this case. This is one of the very few cases I would recommend OD in t5s. I generally don't like to go that route.

    Maybe some that knows will jump in..
    BUT.. IMHO..

    I think HO= High Output

    VHO= Very High Output..

    But wait till better info..
