    You really can't hear anything but the water exiting the skimmer in the sump and you really don't even notice that. So I would have to say that my tank is quite.

    Same here. I've had loud tanks before but the ones I've got now are pretty quiet.

    Well, for me its either my power heads vibrating against the glass or the gurgling sound my skimmer makes from the air inlet.

    My hood and sump cabinet fans also.

    Built originally with supposedly quiet 12v computer fans...

    With six of them going..."quiet" my a## --- sounds like a helicopter taking off.

    Am going to replace soon with some heavy duty 110v fans that were found at a swap meet.

    For you guys with a loud skimmer from the inducton of air Just get a few feet new airline or even some of a little larger tubing and roll it into a little coil then slip the old air inlet into that 3/16th airline tubing that way it wont cause any air restrictions from the added length.
