I want to turn my 50-gallon cichlid tank into a planted community tank.
A GE 6500K would be your choice.
+1 dude 2in10 your planted tank looks great.
These GE 6500K Daylight are available at Walmart and the like, right?
They might be, never checked to be honest.
I'll take a look-see. Seems like it could be a pretty common house bulb.
I purchased a floramax plant growth bulb. Will this work well? This bulb has provided a spark in algae growth, so that's a good sign.
We'll see I think the penetration from a 6500K with be better for the plants than a grow bulb.
This was a hasty purchase on my end. The store I visited didn't have a 36" 6500K bulb, so I went with this one (which had an almost identical spectrum graph as the 6,500K did on the box). I'll take a look at Walmart (maybe even today) when I pick up some water for a water change in my saltwater tank.
