Okay well, there is lots of fish poop on my sand. And my hermit crabs are 23/7 on the rocks, never on the sand. So the rock is sparkly clean. But what can i do about the fish poop on sand?

    Also what eats diatoms?

my crabs keep my rock clean but then they poop on the sand. you know don't poop where youre gonna eat. Anyhow since I just have one fish he can't lay all that poop. so i have to blame the crabs for my poop.

If you're still getting diatoms it may have been too early to add Xenia.

Make sure you are using RO/DI water and the diatoms should go away on their own once the tank is cycled and mature.

Don't underestimate the importance of using RO/DI. Many of the problems that people have such as diatoms, algae, cyano are caused by using tap water.

You can buy it from your LFS. You can also buy it from the machines at the grocery store but the quality may not be good if the filters aren't well maintained.
