What cheap fish should i get?

I don't know what you guys are talking about. I've never seen/talked to any of you before in my life.........

 

If I may get back to the topic ... LOL

Here is my 2 cents ....

I have a 58 gal.
2 Ocillaris
1 Royal Gramma (Roy)
1 Firefish (twitch)
2 Cleaner Shrimp (jaques & piere)

The cleaner shrimp were part of the CuC added first
The pair of clowns were the first fish I added.
Then the Royal Gramma.
And then the firefish 2-3 weeks ago.

The shrimp, clowns and gramma were great together, but when I added the firefish ... the gramma picked on him relentlessly for 4-5 days or so.
I thought I was gonna have to take the firefish back.

Eventually, they settled into a routine and found their own places...now everyone gets along fine.

You may not have the problem I had, since you are adding the gramma last. Mine had already picked its territory before I added the timid firefish.

And for what its worth ... I wouldn't trade my Royal Gramma for anything.
Lots of personality and beautiful too.

sounds like we have the same stocking list hopefully i wont have the Roayl G going after my firefish but like you said, he's the last fish. And if they do fight at least it sounds like its very short.

Did your Royal G keep your clowns in check?

And glad to hear that he left the cleaner alone, gives me some reasurance

 

Actually, my clowns were never a problem ... they seemed to try and protect the firefish from the gramma.
Now, they tend to hang out off and on WITH my firefish.
I guess you could say that the clowns kept the gramma in check.

And so far, no problem with the gramma and the shrimp.
The shrimp are as big as the gramma for the moment and VERY outgoing. They try to steal food from ALL the fish at feeding time.
I guess when the gramma gets bigger he could take out the shrimp, but I have never heard/read of a gramma doing that .... I've only been into saltwater for 6 months or so though.

 

sounds like we started the hobby at the same time 6 months for me too.
I guess i will just chance it i love my cleaner shrimp but i think i love my firefish more and he also had a bigger price tag, i just hope the gramma will distract the clowns from the firefiish

guess time will tell
