What are your reefing pet peeves?

Finding a puddle of saltwater in the floor, and no idea where it came from.

 

One other I forgot:

TEST STRIPS! Reagent based testing is the way to go.

 

also I hate this line:

"my params are fine" or normal or whatever.

then it gets worse, when you ask for clarification and it turns out they don't have the tests to find out... "what's nitrate?" "how do I test that?"

I thought you said they were "normal"?


I guess I hate fake input so we'll answer with false assumptions.

this often ties back into the "i know the answer, I don't want to hear it, if you give it, i will ignore it and do what i wanted to hear anyway" bucket.

 

1. Film algae
2. Mag float that leaves scratches on my tank
3. Skimmer noise
4. Bubbles in DT from skimmer
5. Skimmer acting up
6. Chromis attacking my wrasse
7. Clowns being pigs
8. Salt creep

 

O and another one! when people come over and stick there hand in the tank! i hate that!

 

You have no idea how infuriated I was when I noticed these hairline scratches on my glass. DAMN YOU MAGFLOAT!!!

 

1) unexplained temperature fluctuation
2) expensive fish that hide
3) mounds in my sand bed (i know, lame )
4) closed loop not in equilibrium
5) people not understanding sarcasm or tone in text because, well it is text there is no emotion
6) know it all LFS employees and opinionated arguments here on 3reef

 

Or coming home from work to an empty aquarium and a dry floor. I still can explain that one. Must have soaked through the concrete I guess.

Also Wanting certain fish, but some are FOWLR and some reef, guess I have to buy another tank. lol May have to do some renos.

 

what is with that? I have the same problem. What is the fricking draw to stick your hand in someones tank??? This baffles me.
