Can anyone identify the white stringy things in this pic? Are they good or bad? If bad how can I get rid of them?

They are the "fishing lines" from the vermetid snails; the hard skinny tubes.

    +1 to ^^^

They're mostly harmless, but may irritate some corals. Vermetid population is normally regulated by their food supply, which is detritus particles suspended in the water column.

They are not good, but not bad either. They can irritate your corals and are an eyesore.

You can either scrape the snails off the rocks and remove them, superglue their tubes shut, or crush them. Removal is probably your best bet.
