    It's because you have SOFT corals. Those guys don't build skeletons, and thus don't need calcium or carbonates!

    And +1 to "These aren't drugs". Not by a longshot; they're pretty much just minerals, and exactly like the minerals you need to survive. I dare you to grow a single bone in your body without having calcium available in sufficient quantity.
