this hobby sure causes alot of grief. i just sent back a korallia 4 for 2 smaller 2's for my 55 gallon. since my first post on this thread i have looked at alot of info on the mp20 and how it can be upgraded to a mp40 and so on. i now have convinced myself i need a vortech that i cant really afford but ill get anyways.

and what you like plays a big role in your purchase.

yea small foot print inside tank the foot print on the outside of the tank makes up for it.
For me Im having to oak cabinets that will be on each side and that clunky motor will be in the way on the outside.

Each setup is unique in its own way. If ll of our tanks had the same exact equipment, coral, and fish this hobby would be boring.

I like the koralias. The wavemake that hydor created can do everything the vortechs can at a smaller price. only main differences is footprints in/out of tank, and wave pattern.

I dont think theres any hard evidence that with 2 vortech's sequenced vs 2 koralia's sequenced one will produce better coral growth.

There's no way I'm spending that kind of money on a plastic propeller.

I have great polyp extension with the random flow of two K3s pointing at each other from opposite sides of the tank.

The K3s are big, but for the price difference I don't mind at all.
