I"ll have to try some, IF I can get here in Wisconsin.

As far as Carbon Dosing- I have been using Vinegar (also a form of Carbon Dosing) with my Kalk drip with great results.
I didnt' add the Carbon dosing for high nitrate levels, more to 'buffer' the Kalk before it's dripped in the sump.

I sort of 'Grew Up' on Shiner Bock! I can get that in Wi easily now too.
In fact, my last two batchs of homebrew beer is the lager recipe for....Shiner Bock- it's a Lager Beer

And as far as Vodka dosing is concerned- it's only the Carbon chains of ETOH that are of concern.
Just buy the cheapest, flavorless Vodka for dosing, save the Tito's for the 'Big Fish'.

 

billy, you don't need to carbon dose at this stage. Now, if you want to drink some vodka -you can certainly do that

 

It will help you get over the hurry up and wait stage of the cycle process lol.
