virtually silent over flow box

hey just thought id post this im sure alot of people hate the sound over water goin down there over flow box, i couldnt sleep threw it and came up with this idea

since most of the water as it went into the overflow box splashed when it connected with the water at the bottem

using some plastic that i got from the hardware store i created a piece of plastic with holes in it what it does is instead of stopping the water dead in its tracks causing all the noise, it allows the water to be accepted with minumum impact leaving no splash and of course making alot less noise


under it <blue circles> is some bio balls reducing the splash from the plastic to the bulkhead, in mine i have placed my filter media on top of the plastic which i found further reduced noise.

the idea i found works so much so that i cant hear my tank at all, its nice to finally get some sleep at night too

i think that is a pretty good idea. My overflow system is annoying.
