I have a hamilton vho ballast that will run two bulbs up to 8 feet or 220 watts. My question is what kind of t5 bulbs can i run with this and is there anything i need to do besides changing the endcaps to fit the t5s? I am still debating on lighting and was thinking about supplementing two 175 watt mhs with two atinic t5s.

Most VHO ballasts will run VHO or T5-T12VHO lamps... Essentially you need to get T5 endcaps and rewire the endcaps. To my knowledge Ice Cap and Coralvue are the two main VHO ballast makers...

this is a magnetic ballast i believe. it's the only vho ballast on the foster and smith website. other than that the ballast says nothing except 120 volt. i was waiting for someone to chime in. thanks for any help guys.
