Vertex is trying to make the Cerebra controller the only controller you will ever need for your aquarium. With an Android OS, ARM Cortex-A8 CPU, integrated webserver, cloud server and numerous BNC, DIN and USB connections on its 'multi bar' hub - Vertex is going for scorched-earth tactics over the competitors. Details below.

The Vertex Cerebra has sensor auto-detection so you can just plug everything in. And just turning it on might connect it to your computer. Wireless USB-key ready, LAN or hardwire it direct to the modem. The 5.5" touchscreen is intuitive with app icons and totally customizable. Oh yes, you will be able to build apps for the Cerebra. So if it is possible to think of something you can't do with it out of the box, you can program it.

    Cerebra Prima

    • MEANWELL Power supply for Cerebra
    • Multi-Bar power-bar

      • 2*Ph
      • 2 * Level Sensor
      • 1*PAR
      • 1 * Conductivity

      • 1 * 1-10V control
      • Aluminum Housing

    Other items offered as extra:

    Highlights:
    • If connection is severed to the cloud server, you can receive a detailed system stats with extensive data from that moment sent via email.
    • USB expansion hub ready. Anything thing from Best Buy will work.
    • Automatic firmware update
    • Data graphing and logging
    • Interactive cost calculation of monthly expenditures

    Future highlights:
    • Digital Camera Module - Watch your tank online
    • Ultrasonic surface mapping module!

The Vertex Cerebra controller at MACNA was really polished with a similar housing to their now available Libra doser. I think they are finally close to production and shooting for the end of the year. I think 1st quarter of 2013 is a safe-bet now.

I had no idea I wanted an ultrasonic surface mapping module for my aquarium. But now I do. Years in the making, this kind of luxury undoubtably will not come cheap. But it just might be a controller that makes you wonder how you did without.

This is clearly the beginning of SkyNet! Would have never thought Saltwater fish hobbyist would be the first to go. ;)

Very cool new product, can't wait to see a US version soon.

Also the name of the controller makes my day, Cerebra is a perfect name for a controller.

    Cerebra:
    Anatomy
the principal and most anterior part of the brain in vertebrates, located in the front area of the skull and consisting of two hemispheres, left and right, separated by a fissure. It is responsible for the integration of complex sensory and neural functions and the initiation and coordination of voluntary activity in the body.

I dont know what that would be used for yet... but i want it anyways! lol

Noticed that too... but probably only because I have a degree in neuroscience. Maybe now more people will pick up on that name though!
