anyone recommend the UVL 454 over the UVL super actinic? and why?

does one have more color and more par?

reason im asking I need to replace 2 65w pc actinic bulbs.. I would like more blue color in the tank, so maybe the 454 would be better?

I plan on also changing out 1 t5 current 10k bulb to a t5 ati blue plus soon too.. so total of 3 bulbs to change.

I like UVL lamps I care more about the pure K factor then most do I really could care less about PAR as there are to many vaiables involved to say with any idea of certenty about what PAR id fromtank to tank . I've used UVL since they hit the market for VHO's and until the put out their T5 line I would not use a T5 set for love or money And still not a huge fan of T5's or P/C's

I like the super actinic better. I like the purple/violet look over bluish.

Yes so do I but man , But I get some many to jump on me about the Pars and yadda I just post I do and move on.. I run all UVL super actinics . If the corals like it that all I care about and I have 20yrs of the corals liking them so unless I see a problem I'll stay with the super actinics and UVL

For those who do care about PAR :) the 454 has more PAR than the Super Actinic, the rest is just personal taste for colors. I prefer blue over actinic purple generally but that's just my taste.

If you want to blue up your main lights get the 454. The super actinic(420) is to add fluorescence and you probably won't be able to tell that it's on with MH daylights on.
The ATI blue+ has a good amount of PAR and more than some daylight lamps. Probably one of the best blue lamps out there if not the best.

Just be careful of the cheap bulbs on ebay. I got some pc bulbs from there with a deal like this about a year ago and two of the four bulbs melted at the end and almost caught fire. Glass cracked and fell in the tank.
