UV effectiveness on SPS

    For the record, 400nm is UV. UVA to be exact. 400-315nm is considered as UV. So 420nm is not.

    Actually there are several types of UV Leds. The most popular is semileds chip, they make 3 classes of UV led. One at 365nm-400nm one at 400-410nm and lastly the one at 410-420nm. These all give off a violet light but the lower the color temperature means higher UV levels. The led below 400 is supposed to give off UV light which is harmful to corals. Why mh glass has coating to block that spectrum.

    Actually, no. The human eye see down to around 390nm. That is where the invisible violet - the UV - starts.

    Wiki contradicts itself there in that point (UV invisible up to 400nm, human eye down until 390nm)
