exactlyobp, what are your tank's parameters? You have some really amazing coral growth. I'm running a CW RB set up but expanding to include Violet, red, green, and a few blue.

    Thanks Jay!

    Params..
    Ca: 527ppm
    Alk: 7.0dKH
    Mag: 1,280ppm
    PO4: 0.02ppm
    NO3: 0.25ppm

Im happy with the result Im getting. So I can suggest you to widen the spectrum in addition to UV (420nm and 398nm).

I got the 398nm from AquaStyleOnline.

I might remove some of my RB and incorporate some violet, waiting to see some results. I still have MH over my tank though
Yes I think flash or perhaps turning down the blues and violets would give you a better idea of the changes in colors.

A good friend of mine (takayan) made this awesome chart based on the Feature Article: Coral Coloration: Fluorescence: Part 1 by Dana Riddle.

What this chart means is that if you light with certain spectrum on corals, it turns into a certain color. If you wanna purple up a horrida, give it 400nm spectrum etc.

So anyone want to update on UVs?

It is funny how people love to point out the technicality of these LEDs not being actual UV but everyone ignores the fact that "20k" bulbs are never actually 20k by the real kelvin scale, usually they are on the 40k+
