Using water from main tank to start a Pico?

    could i use water from my main tank to start my pico? Its a three gallon, but i think once i get the LR in there it will be more like 1.5 gallons. Just wondering?:)

    yup you sure can. its probably beneficial because some bacteria will be transfered. all my watter in all my tanks started out of my 55 gallon reef

    nice that is awesome. i think ill just begin starting picos with all my water change water!!!LOL Fishbowls, betta tanks, beer growlers, rubbermaids, etc. I always felt bad throwing all that water away every week> LOL!!!!

    absolutely...as long as your main tanks parems are good. All my tanks have been started using water and sand from one tank
