using Kalwasser

    HI,
    I spent the last thirty mins reading a fairly good article about using limewater for calcium replacement, one thing I didn't think of is that high ph/kh and calcium may precip some of that phos in to the calcium carbonate in the tank, any drastic drop in PH may release phos back into the system causing another bloom..
    Pretty intersting, so removing the phos that is trapped is impossiable with phos reactors , because it may be bound, then a month later or so your ph drops un-expectably and you get free phos thats released when the calcium starts to dissolve.:eek:
    I guess this helps explain those unexpected blooms that occur in a tank that has only seen R/O water. and had pretty good numbers...
