Back in February, I posted a pic of my then, new to me, Symphyllia Wilsoni. It's been a while, so, I thought I'd post a quick update. I've put it in a fairly shaded area and have been spot feeding it probably every other week. So, far the progression has been great. It's grown a bit, not tons, it is an LPS after-all, but what I've really been pleased with is the color change. It had little bits of red here and there when I got it, but now, it, is getting really bright vivid red coloration. Not exactly like one of the supper rare, all-red ones, but still worth an update I think.

    Thanks all ;D

I think it is turned 180 degrees from the 1st photo, so, that is some of it. Definitely has morphed a bit though!

I'm not sure why the color has changed. Some pigments can photo convert, that is change color, when exposed to certain colors of light. I know for example Trachyphyllia can contain a certain flourescent pigment that changes from green to red under 450nm blue light IIRC. Wilsonis aren't collected often, so, it's been tough to find much info on them. Could be photoconversion, or just a change in pigmentation as it develops.

    It looks very nice!
Could an open brain ,such as that, be placed on rock?
