Thanks to The 3reef Royal Blue Contest I am a lucky winner of one of these lamps.

    So I wanted to share.

As soon as I seen this style LED lamp I knew I wanted one. I originally was thinking frag tank. After much time to think.... I wanted to use them for spotlighting regions of my tank. Only thing holding me back... the greenbacks.

Then BAM!!!! Here's this wild contest here on 3reef. I had to win it.... and I did :)

Glad 3reef does cool things like this.

    Now to the good stuff.

Ill let the pics do the talking.

Here's a before and after. Keep in mind my lighting. I have 2 - 48" reefbrite LED strips that pack a good punch over my 250w Phoenix 14k's.

This lamp over powers all of that with an intense blue

I am really pleased with this lamp so far. I am gonna give this a month before I get another one for my left side.

I hope this has helped anyone interested in these.

Any questions? Feel free to ask.

I looked on ecoxotics website for it figuring it was their fixture. Looks like a match made in heaven. Is it a clamp on fixture? Doesn't covering up the some of the heat sink make them incredibly hot?

Thats pretty sick Tatted. I must congratulate you again for winning the contest, I wish I had logged on a bit earlier that day and I might be doing this review :). It really does brighten up that side of the tank and throw out some good color on those coral.

    thanks for sharing Tatted4ever

be interesting to see what difference that additional focused lamp, makes to the colours of the corals within its beam radius

It is a match in heaven. It is right next to my cooling fans so heat is not a problem. Also it is cool to the touch. So Im not concerned about heat.

So far Im really likin it

    Thank You

The photos somewhat capture the difference. Im not a camera expert nor do I have an excellent camera. But with only this lamp and my reefbrite strips on (halides off)... The ecoxotic par lamp dominates its area with intensity.

    thanks
