ive mentioned before on my mix of sands in the tank and finally found a page on one kind that i have in it. ultra reef sand it goes for a little less than a 1.00 a pound, makes a good filler with aragonite, and with the colors available can give your tank a shade of color. heres a ratings page on it in the crab street journal if anybodys interested

That can make for a very purty tank, but will it do the same job as Aragonite sand?

I would suggest calling the manufacturer and asking if their colored sand is similar in grain size to good aragonite or oolite sand. In addition, I would really be curious about the "added" buffering they promote. I'm not a proponent of wildly colored sand as it is not what we typically find in the natural reef, JMO.
