    ive had this plate coral for 2months now . all going well but started to notice dark like patch forming on the tissue at the base . Its quite noticeable as the rest is pink?? What would make this happen ??

    It maybe black band disease Matt! How is the water flow to your stony? It could also be an encrusting sponge(porifera) growing there as many sponges enjoy subdued light and dissolved organics, high nutrients due to being excellent filter feeders!

    im thinking your correct on the sponge thing its raised a little and looks strange!! . As it hasnt stopped the poylps coming out at all .Ill try to grab a pic on lights out !!
