tsunami coral???

    i bought this coral today and the store owner said this is a rare and extinct mushroom coral from tsunami region...has anyone ever seen this coral before? he told me the name but i forgot...help me!

    A rare and extinct mushroom coral? Wow, that LFS has sunk to new lows. Looks like purple mushrooms. I have many in my tank. I also have a green striped variety just like that. Pretty shrooms, but I don't think they're that rare. By the way, they're not extinct if you have them in your tank.

    +1...I have the same green stripe variety. Didnt know I had such a rare specimen in my tank!

    Sorry, I think your LFS told you a whopper!

    Looks like the same ones I have,LFS in Pensauken N.J. called them watermelon shrooms.Idont think the store is in tsunami region though.

    obviously when i say extinct i mean in the sea due to the tsunami... these are raised in his store....

    Sound's like we shop at the same store. lol I never heard that one and have more mushroom's like those than I want to count. Most LFS's will lie to you for a sale. Remember they are in it for the money. Before shopping there again I would do a bit of homework. Good Luck
