one of the 2 heads on my torch hasnt extended its tentacles for about 4 days now. and they seem to be retracting more and more inside. if this is indeed the case, what should be done with the dead head ? should it just be left as is or cut off?

Are all your params in order? If so then it might be splitting. Is it just a single head and other are fine?

i did a water test saturday , all was good regarding that. the other head is looking fine and actually the good one looks like its splitting. could it be the energy its using is taking away from the sick looking side?

I don't think so. Mine has split twice and never looked any different during the whole process. What are your nitrates?
Also, torch's need to be in as low of flow as possible. Too high and they will start to close up.

    do you have a pic?
Some days my seem to extended its tentacles really far and then others don't...
I 'think' mine has to do with it not needing to feed...?
But I am really new to this...?!?!?!?

its got very little flow by it. main type of flow is when a fish roars past it. lol. im at work , so i will try and get a pic when i get home. nitrates were pretty much negligible.
