Being the DIY/Use what you got kinda got, 1.5" PVC, my DC12000, etc.
I only had to buy a few fittings, I have most of them.
The most exspensive part of this build was the 4 x reflectors @ 8.50 ea.

Used PVC I had, roughed up the plastic sheet with a rasp, and installed it with some zip ties

Trial Run flowing water with my DC12000 in my Skimmer area- No good here, when I put the DC12000 on 2 out of 6, no water when to my chaeto, and it dropped my water level

I think it looks awesome Todd! I wish I could figure out things the way DIYers like you do. Your tank looks amazing! May I ask why you decided to add the ATS?

I think I will be building one since I have leftover pvc from building my diy overflow/wier tube. I will only have enough space for one lamp though lol. I will probably use your design since I have a dremmel too.

Thanks MIndy! I can always count on you to make a positive comment!
I added the ATS- b/c after researching this a few times over the last few years, then seeing some others positive results and trying to figure out why they actually work for a reef tank, and why it may actually be 'superior' to the other methods of N and P removal (wow, was that ever a long run on sentence), AND because I had most of the items already,
I'm going to 'give it a go'!
I'm hoping after 2-3 months or maybe less, I'll start seeing some positive results and take my skimmer and chaeto offline.
Although I would have to 'clean' and dispose of this every 7 days when it starts good growth- I still am hoping it will actually provide superior results!

I recommend reading thru at one of the really long threads on this. One sided/lamp will work too. And thanks, but not my design. Turbo Aquatics has a really good thread here on 3reef about them- and is primarily what I used for my ideas for mine.

Day 2.5, and I"m already starting to see many green specs on the sheets!
Can't wait for some thick, green, nasty growth!
REALLY can't wait until I take my skimmer and chaeto offline!

When i was running mine I kept my skimmer online. Interested to see how yours does when you take the skimmer out of the equation.

Watch out for salt creep. When I had mine I had to build an acrylic box as the salt creep was getting all over everything.
