To lean rock on glass or not

    There is a good reason to leave space between the live rock and glass and that is because it's better for flow and it helps keep the tank clean. If you have the rocks against the glass the flow is slower back there so more detritus can build up

    I'm not saying it can't work and in less deep tanks it's tough not to do. There have been plenty of successful tanks with rocks against the glass but I think it's better if you can avoid it.

    It's one of the reasons why you now see more deep tanks on the market and why pol recommend deeper tanks.

    My 90 is viewable from front and back and because of the depth I was able to scape it so both sides are like the front. It's like having a much larger tank. I use one side for standard sps and lps stuff and the back for aggressive stuff like trachys and hydnophoras and galaxias.

    The only glass that I "lean" LR against is the back glass.
